Inside a window yesterday in middle Norway on the coast line 23 m asl in farmland close to a swamped broad-leaved forest. I believe it to be a Lonchaea even though it also resembles Earomyia viridana because of the yellow coloration distinctly/strictly on the (upper) tarsus. The latter species is unlikely, as it is not recorded in Norway. The fly is collected alive at the moment, so further details can be revealed. The habitual appearance was a bit special, crouched with the head low. Length about 4mm.

Help appreciated as always.

Cheers Jørn

The relatively long antennal flagellomere and the rather bulky appearance would suggest a female Lonchasa spp. Looks most like one of the Lonchaea mallochi group of species Iain
