Once John has supplied the genus, it is easy: according to the Catalogue of the Craneflies of the World (http://ccw.natura...search.php) there is only one Swedish Pedicia with such a characteristic wing pattern - P. rivosa :)

Where I live there are four species, two of them inseparable except by close examination of male genitalia.

According to the Catalogue, 12 Pedicia species occur in the USA, and only one of them is illustrated. So Pjotr Oosterbroek would surely be glad to get more pictures of correctly identified species (and the users of the Catalogue, too) ;)
