Could anyone comment on whether the terminalia in the images here:

Drosophila ambigua? The specimen keys to ambigua, but I can't see how the terminalia match those illustrated in Baechli et al (Fauna Entomologica Scandinavica 39). I suspect it is just me being unable to discern key features through lack of experience, but to me it looks more like the terminalia illustrated for
D. obscura, although the sex combs don't match that species.
Hope someone can help.

The anal plates are more similar to
subobscura (setae on ventral part much shorter than on dorsal part) but if you can manage a lateral shot of the aedeagal complex (or good shots of the wing or the palpi) that can confirm whether I am correct or wrong.

I'll see what I can manage and post it here. It might take a while as I am going away for a week soon.
Meanwhile, I had dismissed subobscura because the illustration in Baechli shows no prensisetae, which this specimen clearly has. But other features do seem to match subobscura quite well. Confusing!
