Hi,

can somebody identify this fly wearing a fur coat?
Slovenia, Kočevje, 370 m, 4.10.2015

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Natalija

Pollenia sp., but getting further will be impossible, I am afraid, even for experts/specialists. (I am not one of them :))

If this was in the UK (and assuming the abdomen is really as unmarked as it looks) I would say P. atramentaria. Not sure if there are any similar species in your part of the world though.

Thank you Smoggycb :) Unfortunately I have only this photo. So I'll call it P. atramentaria
