A female Admontia from lowland heath in Yorkshire UK today.
Tibia of middle leg with 2 large bristles, so keys in Belshaw to grandicornis/maculisquama

It looks to have one small apical scutellar.
The postero-dorsal bristle at distal end of hind tibia is the same length as the dorsal bristle.
The second section of the arista is only about twice as long as wide.
The squamae are very yellow.
It seems to have slightly mixed features...can it be taken to species please?

General colouration and colour of the squama clearly makes this maculisquama.
Other features are probably less relevatm / reliable.

Thank you, Theo...the squama colour is a good feature then? Belshaw does not mention it at all.

It is THE feature, together with the general colour and extension of pruinescence on tergites.

See Tschorsnig & Herting in Tachinidae Mitteleuropas if you can read German.
