This fly was collected in brazilian southern Palmas, ParanĂ¡, circa 1100m, during last summer (december 2013). It's 1,0 cm length, quite huge for a Chloropidae... Does anyone have a clue? Is it Platycephala? I've never seen it before...

Thanks for any help!

It is a chloropid but I cannot say for certain that Platycephala would be the only Neotropical genus with a hgead shaped like that.
