Hello, this is my first time on the forum. I think this is Chironomidae. Can any more be said?
It was near Chicago, June 7, 2004.

This one does not belong to the family Chironomidae, but it is a Sciaridae!

Thaks very much. I thought it looked strange for that family. I must have put down the wrong family earlier.

Now you can see why they are called dark-winged fungus gnats. :)
