Thread subject: Diptera.info :: sawfly or moth caterpillar maybe?

Hi,

Please could anyone help to id this odd little character,maybe 13mm ish found in a wooded area in rural sussex uk.
It moved like a robot,with jerky fast movements with a pause between each move.
