Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Strange Odontomyia from Hungary

Found near Bácsborista, about 35 km W. of Szeged, S. Hungary, on 10.05.2013. It is about 9 mm. It looks very confusing to me. I know, it sounds crazy, but it closely resembles an O. cephalonica male. It has very short scutellar spines, an antenna longer than that of O. ornata, and and the fist antennal segment is short, much sorter than that of O. discolor. Also, the hind tibiae are mostly dark. (Or I am absolutely wrong with the genus...) Can someone help ID this fly?
Thanks in advance!
Henrik

Odontomyia cephalonica, male. If you do not mind parting with the specimen, it would be a nice one for my reference collection. :D

Parting with the specimen is not a problem for me, but this is the fist O. cephalonica ever found in Hungary, so I feel it should go to a state-owned Hungarian collection. But the next specimen will go straight to you, not joking!
Kind regards,
Henrik
