Photo taken in Reading, UK on 2013-05-12.
I think this is a female
Anthomyia sp but the black patches are not right for the
A. procellaris group. Is it
A. plurinotata?

Anthomyia plurinotata seems right.
Would be the first record for the UK...!?

I looks like A. plurinotata, and if it is it is a species new to Britain. If you did not catch a specimen, please go to the locality and search for more and collect them, especially a male. If you don't want to do this, please tell us the locality in detail. It is not possible to record it as positively new to Britain based on a photograph.

At last, long after I had given up all hope, I have finally caught a male!
This specimen was taken in the Wilderness, in Whiteknights Park, Reading, UK, on 2014-09-13.
