Hi,

I found this interesting looking fly on sunday, not one i can remember seeing before.
Rough guess 15mm,found in north Cornwall in a sunny woodland clearing, with ancient mixed and connifer plantation on either side, sat on long grass with a river nearby.
As usual when i need to post here,i could only guess at the family ..mouthparts dont seem right, but Asilidae maybe ? I dont have a clue really:)

thankyou.
