Is it possible to ID this almost wingless 3mm fly:
Kolgujev Island, Russian Arctic, 69°07'N 49°57'E
End of June 2012, leg. F.Hillig, caught in ground trap, stored in alcohol.

Kind regards,
Rolf

Most probably Crumomyia pedestris but the focus on the pictures is not quite enough to be certain. If you have a speimen you can send over for confirmation...

Thank you for fast ID and the offer for a closer look. Please tell me where to send the flies.

Confirmed as Crumomyia pedestris. Four females arrived in the mail last Thursday but I did not have the opportunity to examine them until now.
