Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tephritidae: Acinia?

This fly is from St. Martin, Lesser Antilles and was seen on flowers along a path through a hillside forest. I had it noted as Dioxyna, but I can't remember why I thought it was that, and I'm not sure it's actually correct. I will upload two photos, I have more if it helps.

EDIT: Looking through the gallery on this site, I think it looks like Acinia.

Yes, an "Acinia" sp. The problem is that it is not the same genus as European Acinia, but no genus has been established for it yet.

Interesting! I just found this photo of Acinia picturata: http://bugguide.net/node/view/422604 which looks very similar, although I guess would get a new genus name once there is one.
