An awful photo, sorry, taken in 1985 on color negative film and I'm sure it was with a slow shutter speed.

My memory is that this insect was fairly large, but my memory is not fresh and I did not measure.

Is this a large wasp or some kind of bizarre fly that is fooling me into thinking it is a wasp? I can't see the eyes well...

Help with this one will be appreciated!
