Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Mydaea sp

From just north of Stockholm, Sweden 2006-06-25 (YYYY-MM-DD). This was the one and only shot of this male fly. The wing venation points towards Muscidae (I believe or at least not Tachinidae) and the shiny metallic thorax/abdomen towards Calliphoridae ... I found no match in the gallery.

A typical Mydaea (Muscidae). Perhaps my favourite muscids, they are very 'clean-looking' with a deep black ground color covered by a even bluish to brownish dusting. The formal characters separating this genus from Helina are all very small and usually not visible is photograps.
