Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Prionocera sp. (Tipulidae), northern Norway

Last Tipulidae from 2011, photos from 24.06.2011 (coastal area, forest). Could it be a Tipula (Acutipula) species??? Have no literature, so I'm only guessing. Don't think it's possible to identify to species-level?

Size approx. 20 mm.

Thanks for your guess. It looks very similar to a Prionocera sp. identified in another post here at the forum.

Also read about Prionocera on a Norwegian site, think it should be this genus by the descriptions given there.

Certainly Prionocera, the antenna are without verticils (long hair-like bristles). Maybe P. turcica but that is a guess.

Thanks for confirmation to genus. I'm happy with that, didn't get many details on photos.
