Hi every body
I require to identification key species of Phoridae (Palaearctic region), and have searched a lot internet, but just I could find some keys that should pay for them.... :S
My question: Is there any site to I can download it free? Can anyone say please a suggest? :)

The exists no complete key for the Palaearctic Region. The volume in 'Die Fliegen' is hopelessly outdated as there have been numerous descriptions of new species and synonymizations since. To take on Phoridae seriously you must be very brave and persistent or...

Well, Paul, I don't know that I am which one, "very brave and persistent or..." :P ;)
But I think it's better to find a kind of key (even no complete) for start and familiar with this family!! B)
Therefore, would you please advise me that how can I find that, of course free? If you help me I will be so thanks to you.. :) :)

Disney has published a couple of volumes of the British fauna of Phoridae in the series: Handbooks for the Identification of British Insects. Taxonomically valuable, but covers only the British fauna, as the habit is in the "Old Blighty".)..

The Megaselia part (1989) is nearly impenetrable but the other genera in Scuttle flies (1983) are slightly easier.

There are very few people in the world who study Phoridae. Henry Disney and I are among them. The problem is that so many people request identifications, that a researcher could spend an entire career identifying other people's material and never getting to their own research. Therefore, Henry would probably want to know why you need to identify your flies and what your project might be. Then he could decide whether or not he could help you.

As Paul indicated it can be difficult to identify Phoridae to species. I don't think that Disney's Megaselia book is as difficult as Paul says, but then again I am accustomed to looking at these flies.

I hope that this helps you understand the situation better. If you want to ask Henry for his assistance, it is easy to find his e-mail address on the web. Just out of curiosity, what is your project, how many phorids do you have for identification, and how are they preserved?

Thank you very much for your advises;
In fact I guess we could find almost 15 species.. but it is just a guess and we should find a key for identification and determination of numbers and finally we want to send them to an expert of this family for confirm... We still researching it...?! :)
And still collecting samples for it.. ;)
We put all of them into the alcohol 96%...
What do you think? is it perfect?
