Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Dolichopodidae, Hydrophorus albiceps?, northern Norway

Is this a Hydrophorus species? Found in small ponds in a marsh close to the sea. Date is 29.04.2011, photographed in Bodø, northern Norway. Size approx. 5 mm.

Wonderful pictures of what looks like the female of Hydrophorus albiceps. At least, that is what I can deduce from the pictures (wing with two dark spots, and the entire face and clypeus silvery white). No detail can be seen of the bristles on the fore femur, unfortunately.
If you are really interested in the true identity of the specimens you photographed, it's always good to collect a few (primarily males) and get them identified by a taxonomic specialist.

Thanks for comments, I don't have good photos of front legs. Very hard species to photograph (maybe amongst the more difficult insects, extremely sensitive to movements).
I think I'm happy with ID to genus, these are very common (and especially where I photographed this one).
