UK, Suffolk. 5th May 2011
Open woodland on sandy soil Size 7 mm approx
I think this is
Carcelia tibialis, with 1 ad and 1 ventral bristle on middle tibia.

Looks somehow strange. Can it be
Nemorilla? I canīt remember if they have such tibiae and I donīt have any specimens at hand. Are the eyes really hairy? If not, could be
Thecocarcelia.

Looks very shiny for both those options - I am confused so I'd prefer to see a specimen to be sure ;)

Thanks for looking at these, Jaakko and Chris. The eyes are definitely hairy. I think my less than perfect photography is making it look different to reality. I still like
Carcelia, but I will put it in the ever filling box of specimens to send to Chris:)

It is a really odd little specimen too - the smallest
Carcelia I have ever seen :)
