Robust, short wings. Is this a Machimus sp.?
17 May 2009, Pico Bonito National Park, Honduras, low elevation (under 300 meters, anyway), mixed forest and cleared areas.

This is a very nice photo of a male Amblyonychus cf. trapezoidalis. Amblyonychus is closely related to Promachus (has blunt claws, latter has sharp ones); Machimus is a distant relative, in the same subfamily -- Asilinae.
