This small insect (a fly I guess), 4 mm, was running (fast) on the sunny side on bark (Acer) without any attempt to fly, in Brussels this afternoon (http://observations.be/waarneming/view/50947611).

Is it a fly?
thanks,

Tachydromia (Hybotidae). The name means 'fast running'! Paul may have an opinion on whether it is T. arrogans or T. umbrarum or something else :)

thanks for this «tachy» answer then.:D In a previous thread Paul commented some photos like this: «Of these two umbrarum would be more likely (arrogans more often frequents walls and rocks) but I cannot be certain it is umbrarum.»
