Well, it has hairy eyes, which B.aurulenta doesn't have so that's that one ruled out ;)

Looks a bit more like a Phryxe sp. to me but Theo might have other ideas :)

Assuming that it is Phryxe then nemea would be my guess ... but we can't see much from the photo so it's a bit of an educated guess ;)

Might very well be a Phryxe, in which case it is not nemea but more likely vulgaris, given the wing venation and the reddish colouration on the scutellum.

Phryxe is common and Bactromyia pretty rare, so starting hypothesis should always be Phryxe.

Thank you Theo, I had noticed the colouring on the scutellum but I don't have the knowledge nor keys. The general colouring was confusing also.
