Thread subject: Diptera.info :: [Scoliocentra and Heleomyza] Heleomyzidae ?

Again in a tunnel (15-12-2009, Belgium). Are they males and females of Scoliocentra villosa ?
What features are you looking at to go to that species ?

Thanks Andrzej, so all the specimens are Heleomyza cf captiosa execpt the first one. Could you tell me what you see on my pictures to make the difference between those two species.

first species: mesopleuron, hypopleuron and both notopleurals area hairy !
second species: 1 vibrissa with one additional, orbitals typical for Heleomyza - both very big and at the same size !
