Hi
This is a very nice psychodid. Maybe a Clogmia? or somewhere near. It was spot near 2 am yesterday. Size: about 5 mm.

It looks a bit too racy to be
Clogmia albipuncta: send it to me and I'll check. In fact, given the pathetic psychodid list for Portugal, collect as many psychodids as you can and send them all to me...

I know, Phil (concerning the very small list of psychodids for Portugal). I will catch also this one and send it for you. I thought it was a common ones.. Hopefully this morning I will see it again. Also I caught some from Serra da Estrela. In the last year, I saw a spectacular psychodids in Sagres but it escaped! :( If I see it again when I'll go to Sagres (600 km from here) I'll collect it.

The picture agrees with the three pictures of
Clogmia albipunctata in a recently publcished paper (formally) recording it from the Netherlands for the first time.

I've never noticed the white dots before (but it is called albipunctata after all), so maybe they are only visible when the lighting is right. I'm not surprised it is in the Netherlands: it seems the only country it has not invaded (yet) is Great Britain...

yes I'm quite sure it's Clogmia albipuctata. In fact the majority of Psychodidae pictures on the web seem to be this species because it's photogenic and much larger than the inconspicuous Psychoda species that are equally common around buildings.
In the netherlands I've located so far only one fuinding from the northern part of our little country, but tens of finding from south/ western part.
