In fact, "Terellia ruficauda" in its current sense consists of two different species throughout Europe: one on Cirsium arvense, another on C. palustre, C. canum, C. oleraceum and C. heterophillum; I am proposing to consider the first one as T. ruficauda proprio nomine, and this one as another already named Linnean species, but this whole taxonomical routine involves lectotypes designation, DNA barcoding, a lot of biometrics, very detailed mapping, etc. I have already treated also most of Amsterdam museum specimens and have quite a lot of Dutch localities.
