Hi,
Apologies, i know very little about flies.
I saw these nice-looking flies and decided to post them up.
Are they tephritids?

There were 4 of them on a log.
3 with eye'stalks' and one without (female?)

Submontane rainforest, Malaysia
the first picture is of the largest fly, approx 10mm in length,

Thanks!

sorry, can't seem to upload the first picture. will try the second one

Themara maculipennis (Westwood, 1848) (Tephritidae: Phytalmiinae: Acanthonevrini). Not too much common. I am not sure if it has been recorded from the Peninsular Malaysia (there might be some some recent records like Permkam & Hancock 1995, since old good Elmo Hardy 1986).
