About 1cm long with wings? In a forest or other shaded, humid biotope, a garden perhaps? Conspicuously sitting on leaves near the ground? Am I right? :)

This is Hydrophoria lancifer (Anthomyiide). It is by far the most numerous large fly in humid forests right now here in Scandinavia. I must have seen a thousand lancifers during the last few days.
