A very strangely coloured specimen. The specimens of Opomyza germinationis I've seen sofar always have a distinct dark band along the costal vein. There seems to be a vague band along the costal vein. I don't know what to make of this band. Since the rest of the wing markings are very distinct, I'm inclined to say that this is not O. germinationis. However if this is a specimen of O. florum, it certainly is an aberrantly coloured one. I've seen strangly coloured specimens of O. florum before though.
I suppose you have not collected this specimen!?
I have to look for other characters to distinguish the two species. I will come back to you on this one.
