Hello Fly-forum,

This little fly was floating on the surface of a lake.
With some wind it was sailing over the water.

Is it a Sciaridae specie?

greetings, Robert

I think this is a gall midge (Cecidomyiidae).

Thank you Paul,

I never heard of them, but some of them are useful in the fight against Therodiplosis and Aphididae (I read).

Nice to know, I have learned some of 'a little fly' today! :)

greetings, Robert
