Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Calliphorida?

6mm, 13.IV., Moscow, on Tussilago farfara.
This fly puzzled me. First, looking on slow curved M1 I thought that it is Muscidae. But general impression was Calliphorid. It seems to me that hipopleural setas is in place, but thin and only 4.
If Calliphorida, fly looks like Calliphora loewi, - small, with one colour black face withot red hairs.
Could I ask your opinion?

Hi Nikita,

My guess would be Melinda (Calliphoridae).

Thank you Theo.
I found 1+3 ia. May be not Melinda, but Onesia?

Today I was in Moscow Zool Musem and compared this fly wich collection. Theo was right, it is Melinda, similar to M. cognata in collection. The problem is that according Netherland checklist M. gentilis = M. cognata, but according checklist of Czech ans Slovak M. viridicyanea = M. cognata.

Nice to hear.

About the nomenclature, have a look at www.faunaeuro.org
or consult K. Rognes (Fauna Scandinavia),
he is the leading expert in this field.
