This small flower visitor I have seen for the first time today, and I do not know where to put it - but you surely do, so help me. please!
Many thanks, Sundew

Makes me think of
Eliozeta of the Tachinidae.

Eliozeta sp. (if not I would be very surprised)
Sundew, there are tachinids that can be smaller than Siphona, like some Phasia spp. :)

Tiny predators for tiny hosts... Who knows the German
Eliozeta species? I have more pics, if needed, and they allow for much more magnification.
Sundew (still hoping for a name)

It should be either
E. pellucens or
E. helluo, shouldn't it? How can I discriminate between these species? No chance? Chris?

Theo is the expert on these - I have only seen one species of
Eliozeta and it's not found in the UK :( In the Central European key
Eliozeta and
Clytiomya are very similar and can only be distinguished using the katepisternal bristles but Theo knows the range of colours/dusting exhibited by each genera/species :)

Unfortunately, Theo's opinion is still missing...

Sorry, folks.
If it is from berlin:
The third antennal segment is too short for E. pellucens.
It is a male, it's too dark for male E. helluo.
So it must be Clytiomyia continua.

We all, including the fly, are absolutely satisfied with this name and as grateful to you, Theo.
