Hi,
Yesterday I saw this Asilid who allowed for side photos only. When I tried to get behind him, he flew off twice and then left forever... Is the species recognizable?

My suggestion would be Eutolmus rufibarbis, because of the small bunch of hairs below the genital.

Cor is correct, this is a male Eutolmus rufibarbis.
