Hi everyone,

This is the first time I’ve come across the species shown in the two photos below (of the same individual, of course).
I’ve had a go at identifying it, but given the quality of the photos and my lack of experience with this taxon, I’m not even sure which family it belongs to. Perhaps Nowickia?

I’d be very interested to hear your thoughts and expertise on this, although I suspect we may not be able to get much further based on these photos alone.

Location: La Motte-en-Champsaur (05500 – France)
Date: 13 August 2026
Altitude: 2,120 m
Approximate size: around 15 mm (estimated afterwards)

Unfortunately not (for me): I cannot see if and how much marginal bristles are on tergite 2 and the palps are not clearly visible.
