The Sphyracephala revision has been published. Sphyracephala babadjanidesi, described from Azerbaijan, is now considered the senior synonym of S. europaea, described from Hungary. S. babadjanidesi can be named the Eurasian Stalk-eyed Fly. It occurs in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hungary, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria. Revision details are:
