Hmmmm You missed something…
it is a male with dichoptic eyes


So latipennis !!

What was the locality more precisely .

( see my review on this group describing Rhagio atlanticus)

Actually, the dichoptic eyes were my first clue to dismiss scolopaceus :)
But then, at half past one in the night, I was too late for me to dive deeper (I used the Rhagionid key from van Veen, where apparently latipennis is not listed).

The habitat is an old oak forest in Solling (southern Lower Saxony)

Great you spotted it.

Latipennis is a strictly central European species. Locality fits nicely.
