date: 08 Oct. 2023; location: in Hamburg, Germany, in a park area close to a small lake;
a male of a Bibio species: B. longipes or B. clavipes?
Can anybody help with the correct ID?
Thanks and best regards, Volker

But I do - supported by a nice paper of Theo Zeegers ;)

It's Bibio clavipes:

Pterostigma overschrijdt subcosta: nee (betrouwbar)
Vleugel man: melkwit (betrouwbar)

Thanks a lot, Eric and Theo!
Great, that the species ID could be clarified.

Whoah, who is this guy from this key ?

Now, for serious

the milky wing is very conspicuous in the field, but very tricky to assess from pictures, in my experience.
On the right wing in the first pic the stigma crosses the vein, or so it seems.
