Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Cheilosia on buttercup (31.05.23) --> Melanogaster nuda

Hello,

this female was much smaller than the usual Cheilosia albitarsis/ranunculi, only ~7 mm. On a meadow near rivulet (northwest Germany).

This genus is very common on buttercup..

Hi,

My guess would be M. nuda. For the other possible species (aerosa/hirtella), you would expect some sort of hair on the thorax, which looks very bare to me.
