Hybotidae:Trichinomyia flavipes?
Closest match in gallery I could find and only member of genus on UK list.
Interesting translucent base to abdomen.

Upland wooded area, Malvern Hills, 19th September 2021

Working backwards through the key here:
https://sites.goo...-hybotidae
... it seems to be fine.

The final split is a little strange, as my one appears to have "hind tibiae distinctly dilated towards the tip" as illustrated. However, this is a bit more vague and less visible on the photos than the number of scutellar bristles. So I guess this must be correct as T.flavipes.
