Aquatic Chironomidae are often parasitized by nematodes in family Mermithidae.

Many thanks John - mosquitoes travel to experts for examination ....

for me it is a rare phenomenon (I dont work with Chironomidae ..)

I also looked at the photos of Mermithidae - but I'm not sure - objects in mosquitoes have a clearly segmented body ....
