Hello,

Can Conops scutellatus be confirmed?
The bad weather photos were taken in a forest in Germany, Saxony in August 2021.

Best wishes,
Marion

Hi Marion, small and fleshy snout, yellow stripe on frons: Leopoldius sp.?

Hi Jürgen and Eric,

thank you for the answers.
I did only compare with Conops in the gallery and excluded Conops flavipes because it should have femora with a broad black ring.
Leopoldius sp. looks good. I tried now to use the van Veen key, but without the specimen...
I attach an additional picture. Unfortunately there is no side view.

Best wishes
Marion
