It is a long story... the synonymy was faulty but there is a problem with the taxon. It might be M. caliginosus as well but no males are known from that species with a messy result that in most ID works authors mixed up several species. From M. intermedius males are known and until further notice it is the name we use in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. We are working on several publications.
