10.07.21, Germany, South West Area, Schreckensee, marsh area, in wood close to lake, ca. 12 mm. Sorry for the limited view of the species in the picture.

Hi, it's not T. autumnalis, which has a completely black antenna.
See Veldgids DAZEN (Diptera -Tabanidae) van Noordwest-Europa, Zeegers & Schulten.
Quite difficult to see but I guess it's probably a T. sudeticus - but it should be longer than 12 mm.

It is actually bromius, the pattern on abdomen is characteristic. And if you have a very close look, you can see the eyeband.

Thanks Theo - yes, now I see a bit of the eyeband (and the 12 mm fit).

Thank you Eric and Theo,
especially the hint to the eye band, this helps really a lot.
