Hello,

found this pretty Tabanid fly feasting on thistles on a dry-ish meadow along the river Elbe.
Length was approx. 15mm - hard to tell as it was pretty far away.

Germany, Lower Saxony, Höhbeck area, 04-July-2021

Pictures in the gallery led me to Atylotus loewianus, but everywhere else I asked, I got no reply at all.
So I'm hoping you can help.

Thanks :)
