Hello,

a 4 mm Tachinid on Aegopodium podagraria near a small brook yesterday (northwest Germany). Female Gymnosoma costatum?

HI Juergen, as you know, Gymnosoma is a mess. This female is very small, hoewver, the parafrontal is only half dark, so it is NOT costatum.
Costatum from NL came back as a dwarf nudifrons and inornatum as polyphyletic based on DNA.

Thank you, Theo! I hoped, the small size and dark colouration could be a clue for identification. It certainly looked diferrent from most other Gymnosoma...
