I'm wondering whether this empid might be a Rhamphomyia sp.? Seen in the margin of a commercial strawberry field in Kent, UK on 11/05/2021. Any help with the ID would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Dylan

I also spotted this second individual, which I think might also be a Rhamphomyia sp. Apologies for the poor-quality photos!

Hi Dylan, Rhamphomyia is correct and if the first are of the same species it may be R. crassirostris.

Greetings, Eric
