Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Small autumn fly

There were many of those small ( 3 mm) flies in the Bois de Lauzelle (Louvain la neuve, Belgium) this november 22 2007. They were basking on the sunny side of large beech trees in the woods.
I would not even conjecture a family

I'd say Geomyza tripunctata (never saw 'em on trees, though).

Thanks Kahis. Perhaps they were simply using the warmest, sunniest spots around, which happened to be the tree bark...
