Hello,
Is an ID possible for this female Phaonia?
I think it might be P.rufipalpis, but I'm not completely sure.
Seen on November 8th 2020 in an residential area in Nieuwegein, The Netherlands.
Thanks in advance,
Reindert van Eekelen

Hi Reindert.
I can see nothing contra Ph. rufipalpis, though I canot see enough to confirm (for example, it seems so, but I'm not sure that
pra absent).
One more pro: Ph. rufipalpis is typical for late autumn.

Hello Nikita,
Thanks very much for your reply.
The pre-alar area is indeed too unclear on the pictures, I was afraid already that could be a problem for a sure ID.
But good to know for certain that rufipalpis is a very likely possibility! :)
Kind regards,
