Hello!

Is this a female of Scatophaga lutaria? It was rather large, 10-12 mm. Found this afternoon at forest edge, Ostwestfalen/Germany, at 4 ?C between the rain showers...

Juergen

I had a look at this and tried to run it through a key, but it seems to have the wrong number of bristles on the tibia pointing in the wrong directions, and I couldn't work out what species from these images. Someone more experienced may be able to offer an opinion!:(

If it's not possible, then it's not possible... ;). Thanks nevertheless.

I only had compared with the pictures in the gallery, and because I never had a Scatophaga suilla with such grey thorax colouration (possibly only has lost hairs), I tended to S. lutaria...
