Hi everybody,

I realise that this picture is difficult to work with, but since I don't see an awfull lot of flies at the beach, I'm hoping this is in fact ID-able...

Photo is taken on the beach, west coast Netherlands on the 14th of october 2007. Weather was sunny with a bit of a breeze.... Need more info?

Anyone?

Hi Tony, Yes I had the same initial thought. Is/are there any Scathophagidae known that live(s) in coastal areas, specifically on beaches?

Scatophaga litorea or Ceratinostoma ostiorum are typical Scatophagidae of the beach in Northwest Germany.
