Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinid, orange abdomen without pattern => Hyalurgus lucidus

Hi, I photographed this Tachinid (at least I suppose it is) in Scharnstein, southern Upper Austria (about 500m above sea level).

Almost the same, but different parts are in focus. I was quite windy when I took the photos...

I've observede the same species recently at Feistritzsattel, border between Lower Austria and Styria at 1300m asl

Yes, it is a boreo-alpine species, 500 asl is a bit low.
In Estonia, is occurs at sea level.

Thanks once again to everybody for input an correction. As for the 500 asl - it is located on the foot of higher mountains (up to 1500 asl), which might explain its appearance in lower regions...
